Are you starting over and over your fitness journey? And you just have no idea what works for you and how to achieve your goals. Or you’re a total beginner, and feeling insecure about what you should do at the gym?

Let me tell you something, everything gets easier by making a simple plan to kick-start your gym workouts.

Beginnings… Everything is new and it seems pretty hard.

You feel that other people working out at the gym are so good. “They do everything perfectly and have those amazing results. I don’t think I’m going to be like them… EVER.”

Those thoughts have been running through my mind as well. But after working out for a while, I realized that time doesn’t define your progress anywhere. It surely helps, but you can achieve a lot if you only dare to do it.

Do you know the difference between you and the other people working out at the gym?

They are giving it a try. And their results are visible because they tried a lot of stuff. Now they know what is working for them and what is not.

Firstly, working out is not something universal. Some exercises may be effective for your buddy, but not for you at all. Moreover, you will only know what’s good and what’s bad for your body, once you try.

Make a plan.

Try to figure out your goals, start experimenting with different types of workouts, and see which one best fits you.

A good way for a head start at the gym is with a plan customized especially for you. And no, I don’t mean to contact a personal trainer and invest right away.

First, try to figure out what you want and start experimenting with different types of workouts to see which best fits you and your goals. Simply start by asking yourself a few questions:

How many times will you work out per week?

If you’re a total beginner at the gym, never tried it before, and don’t have a lot of experience, start with 2 to 3 workouts per week.

The most important thing is to keep your plan and goals realistic and achievable.

After completing a successful week or two, you’ll be fulfilled and absolutely motivated to start your next challenge.

Will you make any changes to your nutrition?

Don’t make huge changes to your everyday life. They might frustrate you and this will make you give up. Which apparently is not your goal.

Don’t start with a nutrition plan which cuts a lot of calories, and will entirely change your current nutrition. Try some smaller changes. For instance, reduce your portions by one-fifth. Or start implementing some high-protein snacks into your routine.

Once you start feeling better, you will be ready to make a bigger change to your nutrition. Don’t rush. Everything takes time. Just enjoy the process.

What’s your fitness goal?

Lose fat, gain muscle, or maintain your body weight? Ask yourself and be honest.

Having a clear goal will make your life easier.

You will know what types of workouts will be good for you and stop wasting time and effort with the wrong ones. Have a clear goal, be patient, and willful to achieve it. If you keep on working, you can do everything.

By answering those questions you’ll have a new and clear plan to start your fitness journey.

The start will be so much easier. Decide what your goals are, keep them realistic by taking one step at a time. Let the results motivate you for more.
